Blogger's Quilt Festival....

Often I find my favourite quilt, is the one I'm working on right now, and it's true for this one...

I've been working on this quilt for a while, but it's nearly finished. It's from the first Material Obsession book. It reminds me of buckets of flowers at a florist, so this morning when I when to get some flowers from Aromaunga, I asked the lovely ladies if they would let me take a picture!
Can you see how the colours of the flowers are echoed in the fabric...
I think the more I quilt, the more simple they get. It's about the colour and the contrast.
I think the fabrics are so beautiful they speak for themselves!

Even the binding is beautiful! Thanks to Amy for the opportunity to showcase a quilt that I really really love.
Do visit some more quilts here from May 21st...

  7. I can relate to everything you're saying--let the fabrics do the talking, and the one you're working on being the favourite. This quilt just glows! I love the simplicity of it, and the ratio of block to sashing. Brilliant!

  9. You are so right about letting the fabrics speak for themselves instead of cutting them into tiny unrecognizable pieces.

  10. I would totally have to agree with you there. The fabrics are so beautiful in themselves that it's hard to cut into them and make them ity bity pieces. The way you displayed them make them shine! There is beauty in simplicity... :o)

  17. Sometimes it seems we take great fabric and make great quilts with them, but the pieces are too small to really "see" the fabric. I love that all your gorgeous fabrics, as you say, speak for themselves.

    Thanks for sharing. Regards, Sue
