Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day...

I didn't know if I was going to commit to Giveaway Day
but then I remembered sitting in McDonalds in Dunedin
(the day after the  Massive Earthquake
in Christchurch which destroyed our central city)
as we were driving to a safe haven
and getting 50 emails from bloggy friends.

I remember the tears rolling down my cheeks
as I realised that people out there cared about us
and the trauma we were going through.
I remember the support we got
and are still getting.

I just wanted an opportunity to say thank you
and I really appreciate each and every one of you
who stop to drop by and say hi.

The other day I got the best stash of sheets ever
from the local oppy, and together with some things I already had
have put together a couple of nice bundles.

One is for anybody who leaves a comment
(welcome here if you are a new visitor
thank you for coming)

And one is for those lovely people who comment regularly
or even just sometimes.
If you have commented since February 22
(the day our lives changed forever)
then please leave an extra comment,
not that I have forgotten
but for counting purposes!

The bundles include good sized pieces from 7 vintage sheets,
three doillies, some buttons and some trim
and some crochet cotton for quilting.

Thanks again.
I appreciate each and every one of you
who stops by here and leaves a comment.

Have fun!
[Thanks everybody, this is closed now]

  5. Well, I am going to comment even though you need to to send me anything because sewing I just don't get along.
I was thinking about you last night and wondering if you were taken up in the rapture. You would have been the first to go! But we are all still here, blogging and going about life.

Keep blogging and quilting. I need to admire someone's sewing because god knows my own is a disaster.

PS - I DO love the sheets. I am a vintage sheet junkie. :-)

  63. Hi Deb, Just wanted to say what a joy and blessing you have been to me. Getting to know you and your family better through blogging has been a big help to me. Sadly, too much of blogging seems to have an unwritten rule that all must be happy, happy all the time. I believe we show our true love, strength, and character in the unhappy times.

You have been a big testament to that indeed.

    blessings, jilly

  174. Awwww.... just discovering your blog. Was in ChCh that fateful day, but now living overseas. Still feel upset about it all. Haven't ever made it to a Stash Rehash, but it looks like you had some fab finds. I hope all is well with you and yours.
